Only two weeks ago I was writing about snow and cozy clothes and now I'm typing away with a tank top on and the windows open. Oh, the joys of fickle weather! But it is warm - rainy, but warm - and I will take it! The first day that the sun peeked from behind the clouds, I could not help but smile as soon as I went outside.
Now that we have burrowed our way through winter, mild as it may have been, it is time to celebrate! Let's do so by thinking of all the things we're excited for this spring. I'll write mine below and you write yours in the comments!
♥ Flowers. I love, love watching flowers bloom and stand big and bright throughout the sunny-weather months. I cannot wait to plant my flower box and may even attempt a potted herb garden this year.
Flowers I received from my RTDIII today. He is the sweetest.
♥ March 20. The official start of spring! I think I will start it with a night-time walk with my RTDIII and some ice cream at our favorite creamery.
♥ Our wedding! May 11 is the mark: one year until we wed! After booking the venue and church, we went into relaxation mode. Time to get on-task so planning continues to be stress-free and fun!
♥ Baby girl. My niece is due April 9 and I cannot wait to meet her! My sister is refusing to clothe baby girl in all-pink attire (tolerable rule), giant flower headbands (oh, man!) and anything else that screams, "I'm a girly girl!," but I will do what I can to sneak in at least one pair of heels (right) and a matching purse.
♥ Sandals. I may or may not have just bought four pairs online. BUT I budgeted myself and I stayed within my budget. I swear!
♥ Outdoor events. It's still a little early for the festival season but there is plenty to do in the city! I found this list on Yelp and it's pretty comprehensive. Do you have a go-to resource to find fun events?
♥ St. Patrick's Day. I believe I'm one of only a handful of people who do not have a lick of Irish in their blood, but I will celebrate St. Patrick's Day for my lad. Plus, we're going to the river dyeing and parade, and then out to breakfast with his sister! I'll cheers to that.
♥ Skirts and dresses without tights. I am a big fan of tights but it will be freeing to go bare-legged this season. I'm even going to try out a maxi skirt, which is dubbed a trend this season.
♥ Lighter and brighter colors. I just bought Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect in Sea (left) which is the a pale, minty green. I also purchased Nicole by OPI in Love Your Life (right) which has glitter and pink hearts in a clear polish. All these airy color palettes make me swoon!
What are you looking forward to this spring?
xoxo,
lm
